Milfie | Rapper | Free Spirit
You have a unique style that's reminiscent of Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, and Kelis yet you have that Detroit swagger that people love. Have you always embraced that essence of individuality?
Yes. [Laughs] I've always been pretty outspoken about being different.
How did you come up with your rapper name, Milfie?
I actually didn't come up with it. My friend Ayanna came up with it. Once I told her I was pregnant, she was like, "aww Milfie" and then everybody started calling me Milfie.
Yeah. It was literally my freshman year of college when I started getting into the scene, so right off the bat, I was Milfie.
So did you grow up rapping?
I used to write poetry and stuff like that but I never rapped. I always wanted to be able to sing. [Laughs] I'm still going to learn how to sing!
What year did you start rapping?
I started rapping in October of 2015. Everything is just moving so fast. [Laughs]
How do you feel about that?
It's crazy because I just started rapping, and I have so many people coming at me asking for verses, and I don't even have that much material yet! Like baby, I just want to finish these first 15 songs and then after that, I got yall.

Not Pressed. 4G$. Skateland. Different vibrations but they all represent the creativity that's within your music. You also hold no punches in your lyrics. That must be a liberating feeling.
Yes. Because I can just get it all out. But I'm not going to have a definite sound right away because I plan on messing around with so much different stuff. It's fun being able to get all type of beats and just experiment, but they still sound good.
How does a man catch the attention of Milfie?
See, that's crazy because I'm so funny acting so it depends on the day. [Laughs] I like attention, but if you give me too much attention, it's so annoying. I wish I had advice, but I'm still just trying to figure it all out. But be nice, not pushover nice though.
So about this booty shaking birthday party that you're having? [Laughs]
It's kind of like my coming out party. It's Milfie's Detroit premiere. I'll be doing an official premiere of the songs in person. I'll have some visuals for people to love at and I'll also have some merchandise. It's pretty much a booty shaking birthday party, and it's free! [Laughs] I'm so excited.
Do you have a full-length project on the way?
Most definitely. I want to do a Milfie remastered on some of my first songs that I did. The songs that I started off with were all such good songs, but I want to re-release them because I love those songs so much. The album is around the corner too.
