Keke Ford | Owner | Esthetician
When did you start your business, Brows By Keke?
I started my baby, Brows By Keke back in May 2015.
What moment changed everything for you as an esthetician?
The moment that changed everything for me was when I began giving myself to God and allowing him to reveal his will in my life. By doing this, he gave me the courage to step outside my comfort zone and venture out into other cities other than my hometown. Seeing how much of an impact I had on other woman other than in Dayton, OH was life changing for me because it gave me the boost that I needed.
How do you interject creativity within your craft of being an esthetician?
As an esthetician, you must be creative to set yourself apart. I incorporate small little face massages when I’m providing brow services or try to ask my clients what's some things they'll like to see Brows By Keke offer, to keep the business fun for them and keep the momentum going for me.
In a time where instant gratification is only a social media post away, what does it mean to be a Goal Digger?
I define a Goal Digger as a driving force for creating goals and someone who puts blood, sweat, and tears in to accomplish them. I also consider a Goal Digger to be someone who goes after everything they deserve, while also creating a better version of themselves along the way.
Talk about your recent venture, The Brow Experience Tour.
The Brow Experience has been AMAZING! TBE is a platform I've created to tour from city to city to give woman of all ages the opportunity to learn the skill of eyebrows. We also cover motivational topics, business marketing tips, and positive reinforcement. TBE allows the woman that attend the experience to become inspired and start their own businesses. This platform has allowed me to meet so many driven women and love every bit of it. Our next tour dates are Columbus, OH and Charlotte, NC!
What are some beauty tips that you could give readers to keep their skin and eyebrows looking their best during the summer months?
I have three beauty tips:
1. Drink plenty of water!
2. Keep your brows tamed and moisturized.
3. Always keep your make up blending brush in your purse, along with your lipstick, foundation compact, and mascara. :)
Name two things an upcoming business owner in the beauty industry should be aware of.
Be aware that it will be other beauty professionals in the same industry doing the same thing you’re doing, but don't get discouraged because it’s enough room for all of us. God will make room for your gift Queens. Lastly, in this business and any business, you will have ebbs and flows but stay grounded and don't let it affect you.
